The Developer's Challenged Shooter Project Marathon Is Gaining Momentum

The upcoming sci-fi extraction shooter, Bungie's highly-anticipated game, has made a reappearance with the news of a exclusive testing phase scheduled to begin in October.

A Rocky Development Journey

A period of silence followed, until the project was showcased again in spring with a planned September release. However, following initial testing resulted in negative feedback, the studio revealed during summer that it was delaying Marathon indefinitely.

Currently, it seems the game's development is moving forward again, as Bungie just disclosed that it has conducted multiple private tests to gather feedback on the game" since this past summer. The developer is opening the doors a bit wider, allowing more players to catch a glimpse of the experience via an upcoming "closed technical test."
