Exploring an Unique Steam Game Trial: Controlling a Turdy Character on a Quest to Find the Toilet
Steam Next Fest is now live, and enthusiasts have encountered numerous entertaining indie games. Yet, one is particularly notable for its offbeat concept. Called Unko Technica, this classic-feel jumping adventure features a protagonist that is actually a dung attempting to make its way to a commode. In case you're wondering, "Unko" means "poop."
Player controls is straightforward: you only need a jump control. In numerous levels, battle mini-bosses and visit a shop to buy outfits for your poop character.
Execute your jumps carefully, since one wrong move means restarting the level. Jump using air pockets to launch your character higher, cross fragile platforms, and activate switches to unlock secret routes. Earn coins for buying more difficult stages where things gets crazy.
Graphically, the demo shows off eye-catching stages and an amazing music score. Its minimalist visual style of morphing basic polygons could recall fans of beloved games like Earthbound.
Even though tough to name other games where you control a piece of feces, gaming have long incorporated toilet humor. As an illustration, in Death Stranding, players craft explosives from protagonist excrement. Games like Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved employ manure as plant food. Unsurprisingly, fecal references is present a lot in Obsidian's role-playing game The Stick of Truth.
Despite its silly idea, Unko Technica has already earned significant awards, such as being named best at Bandai Namco's indie contest in 2023. This trial version is accessible currently on Steam, with the complete version scheduled to launch on PC on November 19.
